Hi crew, I hope everyone has enjoyed the last couple of long weekends. As you know I went to Sydney to compete in the 21km Spartan beast. I have realised that I have my racing mojo back and that my head is in an amazing place. I came in 5th in my age group with a time of 3hrs-25mins, cutting 1hr and 10 mins off my previous beast at Picton 2 yrs ago. Training is ramping up for the 24hr world chamionships.
One of the questions I get asked is “how much Do you train?”. I do my Ttyd every 3rd Sunday which is around 3-1/2 to 4 hrs of non stop training. I use this session to test my hydration, food and also any clothing I am wanting to use for my endurance events. My other training sessions include strength equipment circuits and running. By the time Enduro gets here in 5 weeks, I will be running approx 30-50kms a week. That maybe over 3 runs or incorporated into other training sessions. I am hoping to go for the full 24hrs which may be anywhere between 50-80kms.
