Mindset – Every Monday I post a quote directly linking you to think about how you can build the mindset of a WARRIOR!

Your mindset is everything. Your mindset will determine if you will make it or
not. Your mindset will determine if you will be remembered or forgotten.

Your mindset will determine whether you will be committed to achieving you goals
when things get tough, as we all know they will, because no human goes
through life without huge challenges.

Your mindset is, without doubt your greatest asset. It is worth more than any
financial or business training. It is more valuable than any degree, any
education any job references. It is capable of earning more in one year than
any doctor, dentist or investor.

If your mindset says:
I will do whatever it takes. If that is your mindset, of course you will follow

Crispy skin salmon, coleslaw and potato!

Nicci’s News

Hi crew, so as you know I went down earlier in the month to compete in the 24 hr OCR world championships. It was my first time at this event, I think sometimes this can be a good or bad thing as you don’t know what to expect.
I know I can handle the time out on course but went in not knowing anything about the course or the obstacles etc. One fear I had was getting myself lost. The course was so well marked out the obstacles were challenging but achievable.
I knew after my first lap I was going to be ok. I had worked really hard on trying to keep my mind strong as far as the cold was concerned, being the cold frog I am, I managed it well.
I am so happy with my results, 7 laps over 80km, 20 hrs and took home my 50 mile buckle and 4th place in my age group.
It was definitely challenging, by about the 3rd lap you have had enough physically and that’s where the mental strength needed to come in. I ran most of it on my own, it can be good because you can run your own pace. I had a good friend do my 5th lap with me and it was amazing to have the company by that stage.
Was it easy? No, there were tears and times I questioned why.
Was it worth it? Absolutely that feeling of achievement at an endurance event is like no other.
People ask why do you do it, I answer why not!
People tell me I’m crazy! I answer, I know but I’m living my dreams.
Are people inspired to follow their dreams after seeing what can be done? I hope so.
You are all amazing, keep reaching for those dreams and work hard to achieve them.
Cheers Nicci

Fit Stuff Testimonial – Paul Lees

About 5-6 years ago I was approaching 130kg, suffering from high blood pressure and high cholesterol and requiring medication for both. It was then that it finally dawned on me if I wanted a healthy long life then things had to change.

I started going to a bootcamp in Raby Bay for about a year, I did see some slight weight loss but my diet hadn’t really changed. My instructor then went interstate and it was then through internet search I luckily came across Nate and Fit Stuff in 2015. With Fit Stuff trainers and the team positivity of other members, that my fitness journey took a real change for the better.

I have been introduced to a healthier diet with fun physical activities with other like-minded people. I look forward the mornings to my bootcamp as a great start to the day.

Overall I have lost 38kg in weight, gone from a size 42” waist down to a healthier 34”. I now have excellent blood pressure and cholesterol without any medication. It has also come with a financial reward in that I have managed to drop my life insurance premium costs by 30% due to a much healthier BMI despite my age. Insurance companies know their business and is an acknowledgement that you are much more likely to have a longer life being active, fit and healthy.

It has opened my life to be able to do things I could only dream of doing before. While I am now 60 years old, but feel a much healthier version of myself than in my younger years. Earlier this year I challenged myself and had a great adventure doing the Kokoda trek which would have not been physically possible years ago. My life has been opened to so much more opportunities and challenges which I now want to cram as much in, while on this planet. There are so many things in life, Everest Base camp, Kilimanjaro, cycling through Tuscany, Camino trail to name a few.

I still enjoy myself, enjoy a drink with friends but if I can do this as a 60 year old then so can most other people, and you will be amazed at what opportunities and challenges you can fit into your life.

Credit to Fit Stuff for making a healthier me with a much more positive outlook on life.
Whilst a comfort zone feels safe, nothing ever grows in it. Fear is generated by sitting and thinking about things, and we can overcome this by actions. As I have learnt, say yes to life adventure and let your body work out how?

I recommend that you give Fit Stuff a call to get your health on track and make the most of life.

Here’s Paul, Before and After

Nutrition Tip – Which foods boost the immune system? Here I have released 2 of the 15! More coming soon…

Happy Healthy Eating!

Blueberries have antioxidant properties that may boost the immune system.

Blueberries contain a type of flavonoid called anthocyanin, which has antioxidant properties that can help boost a person’s immune system. A 2016 study noted that flavonoids play an essential role in the respiratory tract’s immune defence system.

Researchers found that people who ate foods rich in flavonoids were less likely to get an upper respiratory tract infection, or common cold, than those who did not.

Dark chocolate

Dark chocolate contains an antioxidant called theobromine, which may help to boost the immune system by protecting the body’s cells from free radicals.

Free radicals are molecules that the body produces when it breaks down food or comes into contact with pollutants. Free radicals can damage the body’s cells and may contribute to disease.

Despite its potential benefits, dark chocolate is high in calories and saturated fat, so it is important to eat it in moderation.
